In recent years the ancient ritual of storytelling has been championed as one of the most powerful methods for organizational change by NASA, the World Bank, Bristol Myers Squib, the Harvard Business Review and others.

Renual uses story to help clients connect intellectual analysis with the deeper values and emotions that are the real drivers behind decision-making. Only when people are moved do they find the dedication needed to implement lasting renewal.

An international agency needed to create more agile response teams to deliver services quickly and agily. As part of our strategic planning session, Renual had participants tell stories of the moments when their teams had most effectively delivered their service. We then analyzed the variables that had led to success in these situations. From there participants were able to make structural changes to the organization to best support these ‘success factors.’

“I can only answer the question ‘What am I to do?’ if I can answer the question ‘Of what story do I find myself a part?’”
